Description
Bright fluffy clouds wafted in the bright blue sky today, a summer breeze tussled and tugged at the trees' leaves. When I looked out my window this morning I was ecstatic to see the skies clear for the first time in… well, a long time. I skipped out-side in my trimmed, denim shorts and started laughing, giggling, with the windy trees."Hey! Get out here! Now!" I shouted back at the small house I shared. A giant smile stretched across my face as the man followed my chipper order and stepped out of the doorway, still wearing his dark wintry colors and a frown on his pale face. "You could use it! Come on!" I smiled again before running off to the hill that rose beside our house.
Not long after I stopped he appeared behind me, still disgruntled. Another smile shot across my face. Giggling again I looked straight up and slowly let myself fall into the ankle-deep grass, nearly hiding myself in it. The dark-haired man beside me shook his head and sat next to the nearest tree's trunk base. I let my own dark hair tangle with the grass and blow across my face as I stared up at the bright, fluffy, clouds.
"Heyheyhey!" I shouted again, while pointing upwards to the sky, "It looks like a bunny!"
"They all look like bunnies." My companion's deep voice rung out from the tree he was sitting at. My eyes rolled at him and I sat up, looking at him. How could he not enjoy this? This was a once in a life time opportunity. Well, kind of anyway. Why they chose to live here after- My name, who was saying my name? "What are you staring?" Another grin split across my face, almost embarrassed, as I realized I'd been staring. However, I just laid back down on the grass and closed my eyes. I could feel my conciseness drift off as the warmth of the day washed over me. I heard the grass shuffle and press beside me as my last breath of consciousness left me.
This morning I was awoken by the sun breaking though my window, rather then the usual wake up call. After a quick morning routine I made a cup of black coffee while slamming the lined binds shut. My coffee on the table I fell into a seat, wondering where my fiancé was. From outside I heard, "Hey! Get out here! Now!" And there was my wake up call, a bit ruder then usual and yet still better then the sun. I rose from the table, leaving my stark black coffee, and walked out the door only to be temporarily blinded by the very thing that had woken me, oh so rudely. Through my unhappy thoughts about the amount of sunlight bouncing around in my eyes I heard her yelling, then saw her run off. Sighing, I jogged after her and the outsized happy energy she carried around.
Quickly reaching the hilltop my dark clothes were already hot against my skin, I could almost feel the sun burning my flesh. A short and small thump resounded beside me and I thought the woman I'd come here with had fainted. I quickly dismissed the thought as soon as heard a giggle of satisfaction from her small form. A breeze rolled across the grass, momentarily relieving the heat seeping though my clothes. I shook my head and sat beneath the nearest tree, it was not what I consider comfortable. There were stick and blades of grass trying to make their way into my pants, and the heat was still a little much. I had some other clothes in the closet, right?
"It looks like a bunny!" I looked at the clouds, "They all look like bunnies." Three-legged, deformed bunnies but bunnies nevertheless. The small woman who had mentioned the cloud bunnies in the first place sat up and pouted, staring at me. Why? I asked just that but without an answer I said her name, a little louder, once or twice. I liked win our banter, if you can call it that, but this was displeasing. "Why are you staring?" She seemed to snap out it and laid back down on the grass, smiling. She was always smiling. I could feel one side of my lips tug up and outward as I got up and relocated myself next to her, looking at the sky too. Maybe I could stay in the sun a little longer.
