The One with All Four CMCs

That unpleasant life-change I mentioned last time? That would be getting laid off from my job of nearly 13 years in late June. Illinois was in its third year without a state budget. No state budget means no allocation of funds to the community college districts such as the one I where I was working at the time. That ultimately meant that 180 people at my district, including myself, had their positions eliminated.

I was always going to come to BronyCon and whatever conventions I was planning to go to at the time. I plan these trips months in advance and I had the funding to go. So I came to Baltimore for the fifth time. Once again, the lines were long for autographs, but I got the ones I wanted. I also got a bit of a pep talk from Ian after I mentioned that I had lost my con. He told me that actors go hard times on occasion as they go from job to job themselves and that there's no choice but to keep at it. I was always going to keep at it with the job hunt. Unfortunately, that would take a while.

Another photo op was that with four Cutie Mark Crusaders. I saw Maddy, Claire, and Michelle together at Everfree Northwest 2012, but they were all together again with Brynna Drummond (Babs Seed). I got my picture with all four of them and they also performed the song Babs Seed at Bronypalooza that weekend. With all four of them, it was entering "the family business" as they each had a parent there as well. Also, Ian got his beard shaved for charity just like at Whinny City PonyCon earlier in the year.

I also got to meet Red Card and Nora again in Baltimore and I got a rare selfie with best mascot (Blank Canvas). Apologies to Mane Event and Hoof Beatz (more on them in the next two BronyCon reflections). I ended my time with me taking a picture with my plush Mascots staring at the BCC after the convention reflecting on the weekend that was. It was a good time, though I was just starting a long, arduous job hunt in the meantime.

Next on the Road to 30:  Ponyville Ciderfest 2017 and long time no see.
