Description
The Sindar, not yet acquainted with dwarves, thought the Petty-dwarves were animals, and hunted them. Not until the dwarves of the Ered Luin established contact with the Sindar did the latter realize what the Petty-dwarves were. Afterwards they were mostly left alone, but not before the Petty-dwarves came to hate all elves with a passion.Related content

Ah, the classical grudge that brewed between Elf and Dwarf. You can see and feel the tension in the air, the nervousness of the dwarves due to being at death's door, a dwarf women praying to some deity to save their band, the elves looking on in hostility towards their prey, and the foreboding background around them adds an extra spice to the tension.
Good job.
*spoilers if you haven't read the end of the Lord of the Rings*
PS: Good thing Gimli and Legolas became friends. That would have bridged the gap that the Dwarves and Elves have felt for so long.

вот наверно почему в фильме Хоббит еще не понравилась линия Кили и Тауриэль, что в принципе Леголас и Гимли были первыми, кто пересилил вражду

Damn that's pretty messed up. The 7 tribes of Dwarves may hate petty-dwarves but I think they would still be angry at the elves for hunting a dwarf. I mean, a petty-dwarf still looks like any other dwarf....
I've seen some people say its the dwarves fault for the hate between the two races (due to the simurals necklace and the slaughter it led to) but this hunting was before that....

By 'hunted them', does that mean they ate them too....? O.o Morbid question, but why else do people hunt, except maybe also for protection?
