Species Overview
These are called Cainrott's (Pronounced Kane-Rot), They are a mutant Canine / Feline Hybrid who live in a post-apocalyptic society. They dwell in wastelands around the world, each adapting to their environment. Cainrotts are strictly carnivore, feeding on larger mammals, birds and humans. They are on average 135kgs in weight and 1.7 meters from ear to toe, approx 3 meters from snout to tail. They are constantly spewing toxic fumes from their skin, making them an undesirable meal for any predators. This results in their over population. They are not entirely immune to their own toxicity, causing them to be blind and have glassy eyes prone to infection, which causes scars and wounds on their faces. Due to their blindness, their hearing and sense of smell is heightened, keeping them at the top of the food chain, however due to the fact that they are constantly poisoning themselves their teeth are not so strong, they are prone to breakage, rotting and coming loose. They have black and white spines on their backs, similar to that of a porcupine, the tips are filled with a paralysing but not deadly venom, protecting them if they are attacked from behind. They are a genderless species that are capable of self reproduction. Much like regular animals, any weak or sick young will be eaten, but by the siblings, not the birther. The young benefit greatly from eating its own kind at an early age, so much so that even if a cub is not weak or sick, one will be decided as being the weakest, ganged up on and devoured.

This particular Cainrott
This (unnamed) Cainrott lives on Mount Vinson, Antarctica. It is not as fluffy as you would think, however the fur is incredibly thick along with the skin. Its blood is incredibly hot, keeping it warm as the temperature reaches -40 degrees Celsius, with harsh dry winds. This Cainrott is known to burrow into the snow to regulate its temperature on days where the mountain may not be as cold.
