This photograph is one of those rare ones that genuinely makes you just stop and stare and stare and stare...
She seems almost to be saying "I am beautiful, I am stuck, but I am not tragic. You can look, but you cannot change a thing."
Obviously I've quite possibly got completely the wrong end of the stick, but with this photograph it doesn't even seem to matter. It's a portrait without pretension, and it will certainly stand out in my mind against the thousands of others I've seen...
