Description
When I was a beer salesman, the only thing that sold well was the Penguin can. It became popular thanks to a commercial featuring Seiko Matsuda, and from then on, all the stores and vending machines sold only Penguins. We had a penguin costume in the advertising department, and sometimes I wore it to support sales at liquor stores. It was hot and difficult to wear though. Looking out from the beak, children would come close and do dangerous things, like poking the umbrella into it. Laughing, it cannot be said to be a design that Japan is proud of, but it is a memory of the 1980s.
