Description Isn't he gorgeous?
I ran into him while working and he decided, after initially meeting me, that I wasn't a threat and went to sleep. I was able to get within a foot of him. I really wanted to catch him and keep him as a pet but my room mates wouldn't have liked that.

Great photo! Is it really advisable to adopt wild herps like that though? I wouldn't bring any wild animal into my home, unless it is feral, since they don't belong out there in the first place.

Well in my part of the country we have rattle snake round-up which is where people catch rattle snakes kill and skin them then sell the meat and skin. So I could have been saving him actually. I catch hog-nose snakes from the wild and keep them as pets, but they adapt easily especially if they are young or already hurt (which is how I find them)

Beautiful picture of a beautiful Rattlesnake!

I'd also be tempted to bring it home.
