I'm glad to see you joined the group. This particular photo was already in my collection. It should be a good showcase for some of your works.

It was a little bit cold yes.
The water didn't get warm last summer, but the light and the still water were just so perfect for the picture. A little bit after it started to rain if I remember well.

Back to Sauna!

mm, I like the other one better. The choice of RB67 is, of course, superb. But since it does not coem with self timer, how did you do a self portrait?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

StephanePellennec In reply to toQDuj [2009-12-25 07:37:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks
I used a mechanical timer, one yuo can screw in the trigger. Something like this one: [link]

Reminds me of works by Arno Rafael Minkkinen.
Good job!

Ah but I try to not make like him, to use blur and long exposures... It's so difficult. I love his work but I try to focus on my own expression to forget his work when I picture otherwise I would have never been able to go on the series after I've known about him.

But thank you for the comment Vesa.

But it's not a bad thing to be influenced by someone
I didn't mean I would think it's one of his photos but I just noticed a small resemblance.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

StephanePellennec In reply to FatalBite [2009-08-31 05:28:18 +0000 UTC]

I do understand
I've started this series before I've even known about him and his work. It's a fact I've with Arno Rafael some need to try to be one with the elements (and the most natural way is to be naked) and it has been almost a chock for me to be introduced to his wonderful work, if I remember well, it was by you last year on this picture: [link]
Of course there's influence from him, I wish the main one would be for going farer into my feelings and try and try again, maybe during years but I really need to forget about what he has done for being able to try to get deep inside of myself when I make those pictures.
Anyway I don't take badly your comment as his work is really amazing

I like the long exposure idea you're using in your photographs. I can see your personal style from it
Keep up the good work mate And enjoy the (hopefully) colourful Autumn!
