Avatar is not to be missed. Sherlock Holmes was pretty awesome too. And you gotta ways to go before Star Trek 2 and Captain America come along

That's cool! What do you study as a film major? Are you looking to direct or write?

almightybob42 In reply to StephenSchaffer [2009-12-29 15:20:05 +0000 UTC]
i'm planning to direct, but i live out in the middle of nowhere with no money, so i have little actual experience filming. so it's like a catch 22 for me now. but this next year i should be starting to post some work on here.

i will! and let me know if you've got any ideas, i've lost faith in Hollywood, so i need as many original stories as possible.

I think Hollywood has some redeeming qualities...and I do have some ideas for movies, but they need some fleshing out because they all exist jumbled in my head at the moment

that's what writers and editors are for. and i'll be sure NOT to skew it with my own ideals, as other filmmakers like to do. if anything, i'd be adding the camera angles and new perspective to the narrative with the visuals.

Haha. I was actually thinking of maybe writing a plot or treatment and hiring a ghostwriter to actually write the story out. Just gotta get some scratch for that though...

almightybob42 In reply to StephenSchaffer [2009-12-30 02:41:46 +0000 UTC]
aaaah, benefits of being in college. i can make connections and meet with writer people (or even take writing classes and learn how to write what i want), so it could be free. and when you say you get credit for the writing, they'll be more open to your pricing. when i start getting my name out there, i'll see what i can do for getting you a ghost writer.

Haha, thanks. Now that I think about it, it probably would be cheaper for me to just take a writing class...but I'm so damn lazy
