you maybe wondering what this is.In the project im working on I wanted to figure out on the spells and effects. Think of it as like pokemon but instead of it being themselves it's the spells they use.
I'm not 100% sure it will be shown in the series but this is to just help with the idea and understanding on how moves work and for me to figure out on fighting situations.
So this is just part 1 of the element chart. part 2 I'll be showing you after this part.
First, Let's go over Each element type in the chart (There are 12 Elements)
1-Element of Life:they are spells that contain plant matter. Most of the life spells are mainly for support but there are some that that can do dmg with a move such as for ex: Underswap Flowey has an attack that they can shoot out pellets though they can also use those pellets to heal themselves or others.
2. Element of Ice: spells that contain ice and snow. unlike element of like it has more attack sells than a support however it can be able to freeze (as in a thing of which the monster is slowed downed. they are not completely frozen) or cause a weather effect that makes it snow. Ex: the Were-ewe has a defensive and offensive mode but they mainly use attacks involing ice. The defensive mode are high in defense but doesnt stop its weaknesses.
3.Element of water: Spells that contain water. it's self explanatory but i wil say that water is prone to the freezing effect despite it not being weak to ice. supports from water are weather effect of rain and bubble shields. Ex: Underswap Woshua uses his water to wash the player in order to look good, they go so far as to even wash themselves squeaky clean. they are germaphobes. his washing powers can heal but can also be deadly from the pressure of water it sprays like a hose.
4. Element of Darkness:spells that contain darkness/dark and undead powers. The support spells in this element are mainly debuffs. just because the element is darkness doesnt nessasarly mean they're evil. Ex: underswap papyrus can summon gaster blasters which are undead spells and his teleportation powers are from the element of darkness. Very few monsters can actually teleport.
5. Element of light: spells that contain light/holy powers. it is the opposite of darkness, support spells are mainly buffs. It is rare for monsters to have this element but the few that do they are usually good hearted. There is never a monster that is born with light. they have to earn it. light co existes with life but life is resistant to light and life is very effective against light. Ex: there has been so far no monster that has their main element to be light. The pshydoo has light and dark spells but they are neither element. they only have the element of mentality.
6. Element of Wind: spells that contain wind. wind can also help a monster trying to escape by blowing away the opponent. ex. Dereplane (underswap tsunderplane) are sweet beans. though if they felt threatened like being hit they use their plane fans to shoot the enermy away. their attacks consist of sonic boom winds.
7.Element of Fire: spells that contain fire. one of the most common monster spells from the monsters in the underground. Ex: the dremurr family, grillby, basically anyone in hot land. I think it's because monsters needed to adapt to the hot enviorment which the queen is there. snowland isnt really cold-cold while hot land basically the depts of hell. monsters have to adapt.
8. Element of mentality- this is the most common and unique element. element of mentality has to do with the mind thus can be close combat or using the mind to block or move things. ex: underswap papyrus is able to move the character around and underswap sans uses his mind for combat.
9.Element of Earth: The strongest element in the element chart. they're spells that contain earth powers. crystals are also in this catagory. earth support spells are on the defensive side. most monsters that have their main element to be earth, their speed is usually atleast below average. Ex: When ster has his crystal sword out he can hit the ground to have rocks go to the opponent. Even though he has a sword he is on the slow side but that doesnt stop him since he has high defense and attack.
10.Element of Machine: this is a bit differant. they are less or so spells and more so as the monster itself. the reason for that is their bodies itself contains it. there are some attacks that do with machines but overall they have weaknesses that they cant avoid. Ex: any monster that contains a machine mechanic, so that includes Napstaton, Dereplane, woshua, ect. you get the point right?
11:Element of lightning: spells that contains electricity. Mainly speedy monsters ex: napstaton shoots out bolts of electricity at the player. His dance moves are filled with speed and energy.
12:Element of Toxic: spells that contains dangerous chemicals. it is one of the most rarest and the most dangerous element. It is banned to use at all which is accepted as illegal. however toxic chemicals can be donated to facilities that need it. yeahhhh that sounds kind of dark. Ex: underswap jerry, not even undertale jerry, he is still highly annoying but dangerous to the player. instead of him being in pairs of monsters he is just by himself. jerry is jerry.
ok let's get into the deleted details/ideas of the element:
there were a few differant element ideas but was cut. these include, Undead element not being a thing and lightning was going to be mixed in with light,
I think that's pretty much it for part 1. in part 2 there will be more explaination on the type chart with weaknesses and resistances. here is what the tpye chart looks like. of course we aren't going to have part 2 right away. i want to do atleast another monster design or two.
