The lovely Yoritomo Hotako, also fearfully addressed as the Obsidian Champion, in a more serene moment. Or creepy, take your pick. I'm not sure what I'd do if I walked in on a hot, eyeless woman enamored with a helldemon mantis thing. I would probably exit as quietly as possible, and drink until that unsettling image was scoured from my mind.That's right people. She's here to stay. (So long as I have anything to do with it...)

While staring at it for several hours (or something like that) I found something that bothered me slightly. Forgive me for doubting your digital sorcery, but it seems to me that the mantis-demon thingy is hard to see against the background, and the writing. Was this intentional so as not to distract from the lovely and creepy Yoritomo? Because it makes perfect sense if that was the intention. I only ask because it took me a while to make out what she was holding... then again, that may just have been me >.<

It was intentional, but didn't entirely work like I'd planned. What I was going for, was a kind of sequential one-two punch. First you see the pretty, but a little eerie woman. "Hey, what's she doing with her hands?" You go in for a closer look, and "GAH! There's a freaky bug there!" I wanted to provoke that reaction where you notice something that isn't moving, been there all along, but startles you. Like when you've been sitting outside, and see a spider/snake/serial killer sitting next to you, and you get that sudden shock.
Yeah, didn't quite work out that way. But that was the idea of the semi-camouflaged mantis.

Once again, I'm still staring at your stuff, trying to convince my brain this is NOT a 'shopped photo. The details and texture is absolutely mindblowing. And the shadows! Aaaah!

Executed with skill, my friend. Pure unadulterated skill. I love this. the color pallet is total eye-candy and, yes, the scene's a bit creepy, but it's done so fantastically I can't seem to mind. lol. P.s. I really love the way you did her lips.

nicely done. ^_^ and beautiful detail. I am just curious though...^^' if she is eyeless, then why is there a shine in the blackness of her eyes? O.o? It is still a gorgeous work, but I was only curious.

I guess I mean "sightless" more than "eyeless." Wasn't very clear on that, sorry. My idea was that her eyes had been transformed into solid obsidian, because of the dark magic she's involved in.
