Description So I've been watching Voltron Legendary Defender recently and I was enjoying the series so far. Yeah I know I'm late. But better late than never. Currently I'm on the second half of Season 2 of the series (the second disc of the DVD). I've read that Season 8 is going to be the final series. So, I'd be planning to marathon through the rest of the seasons to catch up to where it's at now or where it all ends. While we're on a topic, here's my brief thoughts on the Voltron series that I've seen. GoLion didn't exactly age all that well, but it is watchable compared to it's english counterpart (Lion Force Voltron DotU). The english version didn't exactly have a conclusive ending as they kept their villains alive not like their GoLion counterpart. One thing that GoLion (and to a lesser extent, its english counterpart) have compared to the next series I'll be going over is that the villains did have a two victories. The death of Shirogane (or severly injuring Sven) and capturing Amue/Romelle. And that was it. The rest, they pretty much lose to GoLion/Voltron on a regular basis. Dairugger, oh boy that series was boring as hell. The english version (Vehicle Voltron DotU) didn't helped either. I think I understand why both series wasn't popular over in Japan. Anyways, compared from GoLion, the villains in Dairugger hardly has any victories. Most of them are too egotistical to put aside their differences with the earth forces and find a planet that doesn't die out like their own. They do have planets they've conquered and tell off the earth forces to piss off without resorting a war. But it's pretty much the villains dick themselves and the earth forces and get their asses handed by Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron on a regular basis. Our heroes from both series are pretty one dimensional and not that interesting. Which is probably one thing Legendary Defender did right. What hurts the english version for both series are the editing, the reuse of scenes and footage from either previous or later episodes, and the voice acting; except Peter Cullen. He gets a pass because he's Optimus Prime. Then there was Voltron the Third Dimension. I remember watching it as a kid and liking that series. Although that series didn't age well after rewatching the first three episodes. The CGI is not that great. Although Stealth Voltron was pretty cool. Finally there's Voltron Force. I did not watch that series, but from what I've gathered, that series was not that great either and only lasted for one season. I guess that saves me from hearing Rainbow Dash/Applejack as Allura and Misa Amane/Pinkie Pie's singing voice as Larmina. Though speaking of Optimus, Garry Chalk is in Voltron Force.
