Description
Designed for The Tempest by William Shakespeare. Juno is one of the spirits present during the masque in celebration of Ferdinand and Miranda.
My Juno is based on the Greek equivalent Hera. The gold netting around the skirt and sleeves are inspired through the story of Zeus who goes to Danae in the form of golden rain. The roses on the gown were to be a reference to The Garden of Hesperides, though in the myth the tree grows golden apples, I chose the rose as a sign of decadence.
