Some people might recognise the image i used as reference. It's of a Palestinian kid, one of hundreds murdered by israel in it's brutal offensive in Gaza last December. I just want to add an extract from a Human Rights Watch report that was released earlier this month.

"I want to understand whether I did something wrong to Israel to be
punished like this."

killed while they waved white flags on January 7.

Hamas should not have declared war on Israel. Launching 150 rockets into Israel might get a few people killed and create some world indignation in support of the terrorist who launched them.
Sad but true.

Claim? It wasn't the Palestinians who went to Eastern Europe and ethnically cleansed the Jews from there lands. There was fuck all problems between Jews, Muslims and Christians before the arrival of the zionist colonists. The zionist project is destined to fail, sooner or later... my money being on the sooner.

Arabs in general were quite happy to kill Jews every now and then (and take their property) without any connection to the 1900 immigration. e.g. Sanaa ethnic cleansing of 1678. Also, in Palestine, Arabs were (a) were actually quite busy pushing Jews from Palestine without Nazi inspiration. But they also (b) aligned themselves with the Nazis (look up "Grand mufti of Jerusalem") to continue their general attitudes.

p.s. the Zionist project has already succeeded -- you can bitch and moan about it all you want -- but for now the Arab world is retarded while Israel pushes forward with every year that passes.

It's funny, i tried to look up "Sanaa ethnic cleansing of 1678" and didn't find even one reference to it. Are you making it up perhaps?

The zionist project has merely succeeded in planting a Jewish colony in the Middle East... but it won't last. israel is in a corner, it's isolated, only surviving through American support. How much longer do you think that support will last?... tic toc.

Well... they cleaned it up real nice in Wikipedia: [link]

About 2/3rds of all the expelled Jews died and the property of the others was never returned.

Here's another example of pre-1900 immigration massacre: [link]

Anyway, I honestly don't understand the love hate relationship you have with Palestinians. History recounts many massacres between Lebanese and Palestine's Arabs. e.g. [link] , [link]

p.s. we both know that once the revolt in Syria ends Hezbollah is going to lose its patronage and will turn its weapons, again, on Lebanon. Good luck with that mr. "tic toc". I wonder if you'll ever wake up from the dream your living in... hopefully before it is too late for Lebanon.

I think you might be a little confused, we were talking about Palestine, not Yemen. What has Yemen got to do with Palestine? Don't you think it's kind of desperate to use an unrelated wikipedia article to try to back up your argument?

And now Egypt, another Wikipedia article, with no mention of ethnic cleansing.

You may think Assads fall would be a good thing for israel, but some inside israel disagree, you might find this article in Jpost interesting: [link]

Hezbollah is in a stronger position now than ever before, there's no reason why it would "turn its weapons, again, on Lebanon." ... that's just nonsense.

Are you aware that there are more people emigrating israel than immigrating? I guess some people don't share your faith in israels future.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jaakobou In reply to STiX2000 [2011-06-07 11:29:12 +0000 UTC]

Arabs are Arabs regardless what territory they are occupying and one ethnic cleansing of Jews is related to the general idea where Arabs slowly employed ethnic cleansing whenever they felt like it. The second example is inside Israel from before it was established, it is not in Egypt.

Regardless if Assad's falling is good or bad for Israel, it is terrible for Lebanon. If he stays or if he doesn't his ability to back Hezbollah will be far limited and we all saw how Hezbollah responded when it was threatened -- they no longer do anything against Israel, thye have learned their lesson. Now they just march into Beirut and into the mountains and start shooting RPGs at other Lebanese.

p.s. are you aware the the population in Israel is growing and that the Israeli GDP is growing as well?
Idiot.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

STiX2000 In reply to jaakobou [2011-06-07 15:15:04 +0000 UTC]

My mistake, the revolt was against Ibrahim Pasha of Egypt, But doesn't make a difference, there's still no mention of ethnic cleansing in the article.

The Palestinians are not to blame because some Jews were kicked out of a city in Yemen in 1678. If you want to use that logic then you're responsible for the raping a hotel maid in New York... See how that works?

Hezbollah is well equipped and well organized, that is the reason there has been no conflict with israel, you see Hezbollah can bite back, israel prefers softer target, like dropping white phosphorus on caged civilians in Gaza and shooting unarmed protesters. New leaders in Syria will not effect Hezbollah.

The population in israel is growing? Would that be the Arab population perhaps? Demographics will end israel without the Arabs even having to lift a finger. But you should still look into the numbers of Jewish israelis applying for European passports, you might be surprised.

Wikipedia articles are nearly always watered down by pro-Arab activists. Even the Mawza exile doesn't mention that a large majority of the Jews who were ethnically cleansed and exiled to the south Yemen dessert died or that the land and property of this 2500 year old community was taken.

This type of real Arab rape on Jews is more common in history than you're aware and it cannot be compared with any individual act of hypothetical rape in some hotel.

Palestine's Arabs, I should remind you, were part of the Syrian Wilaya during the 18th century and the majority of the Arabs in the British Mandate in 1940 were economical immigrants, looking to prosper from the British and Zionist investments in the land. After the Arabs were on the losing side of the world war, they decided that Ottoman territory should be Arab again and the Arabs of Palestine thought the same and tried to "drive the Jews into the sea". The Arab world is responsible for the 4th generation "Palestinian refugee" plight because they don't care enough about lives of people and care more about political aspirations.

p.s. both Jewish and Arab populations of Israel are growing. I both shot down your silly argument about population decrease as well as any possible claims of ethnic cleansing on Arabs of Israel.

STiX2000 In reply to jaakobou [2011-06-08 11:18:14 +0000 UTC]

I agree, Wikipedia is not a credible source... but you haven't provided any other source (credible or not) for your claim that the Palestinians ethnically cleansed Jews from Palestine.

DSK was used an analogy to make a point, i think you might have missed it.

The British and the Ottomans kept a census of Palestine, so don't bother wasting my time trying to argue that the Palestinians were "economical immigrants." The only immigrants were the Eastern European Jewish colonists.

I never said the population was decreasing, i said more zionists were emigrating israel than immigrating. And it's common knowledge that the Eastern European Jewish immigrants ethnically cleansed the indigenous people, go research what israeli historians have to say about it, Benny Morris and Ilan Pappe would be a good place to start(both israeli historians in case you were not aware).

So what arguments exactly did you shoot down?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jaakobou In reply to STiX2000 [2011-06-08 11:52:39 +0000 UTC]

The point is that Jews were being pushed away and ethnically cleansed from Palestine through various pogroms. I can point to numerous examples of random attacks in Hebron, Safed, Jerusalem, and others. By the time the early 1900s started, there were very few Jews in the Jewish homeland and not because they found some new holy land. Arabs, in general, don't like non Muslims and this can be seen all across the Arab land - did you know that Nazarath, birthplace of Jesus, is slowly having its Christians pushed out?

As for economical immigration -- that is supported by census reports. The number of both Jews and Arabs grew immensely between 1920-1945 due, mainly, to immigration. Most of the Jews came from a little further than the Arabs -- but the Arabs came to feed off the Jewish immigration. Did you know that the death-at-birth ratio of Arabs changed from about 9 out of 10 to about 6 out of 10 for Arabs who moved in order to leech off the Jewish progress? The entire coast line was undergoing a revolution and the people from the wastelands wanted to join the party.

p.s. you only raised your immigration claim to try and make the suggestion that Israel is going away. Guess what, it's getting bigger and stronger.

STiX2000 In reply to jaakobou [2011-06-08 12:58:20 +0000 UTC]

So after all your replies you still can't point to any evidence of Palestinians ethnically cleansing Jews from Palestine... you just keep deflecting to other issues.

The census reports do not support your argument, The 1904-1914 census shows that the Jews only made up 6% of the population of Palestine... and that's including the Eastern European Jewish colonists that had been arriving since 1880's. There is no evidence to support your claim that Arabs from surrounding areas migrated to Palestine in any large numbers, while the high number of Jewish immigrants is well documented. The Palestinians are the indigenous people, the majority of Jews, merely immigrant colonists.

israel is bigger and stronger? Well, if you honestly believe that, then i won't argue with you.

I already gave you 3 examples of cities in which Jews suffered Arab pogroms. That is why there were almost no Jews in the "Palestine"* area in 1900. As for census -- you'll note I said the mass immigration was between 1920 and 1945. Lookup the numbers in that time gap please.

* in 1900, the territories were broken down differently, and Jews, for most purposes, escaped to the Sidon Wilayah. Sample map: [link] (From "Palestinians: A people in formation")

3 examples of cities in which Jews suffered Arab pogroms does not equate to Palestinians ethnically cleansing Jews. Palestinians never ethnically cleansed the Jews, Your argument is complete bullshit, you're just grasping at straws.

A British census of Palestine in 1922 shows the Jewish population at just 11%. Then in 1931, the British census shows Jews to be 17% of the population. Again, there is NO record of mass immigration of Arabs into Palestine, only Jews.

Your arguments so far have been disingenuous and without credibility. I have proven my point, I think I'm done here.

The Arab number grew by 700K, more than multiplying their numbers, in 25 years and the immigration is recorded. I suggest you try that book I mentioned by Kimmerling: [link]

I do have to note that both writers are on the left side of the Israeli political map and their analysis of Arab politics and society is hopelessly biased. The authors soft-pedal issues such as basic rejection of Israel's legitimacy and the wish to destroy it and some would say that they randomly chose a time to call them a people when they themselves were still considering themselves part of a clan or city rather than an ethnicity. Still an interesting book.

Daniel Pipes summed up a portion of it nicely with these words:

Exactly who are the Arabic-speaking people who live between the Jordan and the Mediterranean? Syrians, they would have replied in the decades before 1920, when "Syria" included virtually the whole of the Levant. Palestinians, they would have said in 1920 and for the next three decades. Arabs, would have come the reply between 1950 and 1967, as Pan-Arab nationalism soared during the heady days of Gamal Abdel Nasser and crashed with him in the Six Day War. Palestinians, the answer would again have come after 1967.

Today, however, the Palestinian identity appears to be in a fairly advanced state of decay. The PLO suffers from financial difficulties, political drift, and incapacity among its leadership (neither 'Arafat's head injuries in an airplane crash last year nor his marriage have helped). As the Palestinian separatist identity weakens, the Muslim identity surges. Should present trends continue, Hamas could replace the PLO as the leading Palestinian organization in a few years.

The weak definition of Palestinian identity manifests itself in other ways too. Take the matter of political terminology. In the 1910s, Zionists lobbied London to use the name "Palestine," seeing it as a name which corresponded to the Land of Israel of Jewish tradition. In contrast, through twelve centuries of Muslim rule, the territory had never formed a separate political or administrative unit; and in 1918 Muslims did not want one to appear. Later, as Jews discarded "Palestine" in favor of "Israel," Arabs embraced the former term with fervor. Today, Filastin not only resonates deeply among Arabs, but conjures up near-mystical allusions. ("West Bank" underwent a similar metamorphosis, as Kimmerling and Migdal point out; what began as a Jordanian substitute for "Palestine" in the 1950s now serves as a shield to fend off the Likud term "Judea and Samaria.") Such shifts in terminology confirm the wholly unsettled quality of Palestinian politics.

December 14 - Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal says the group will not renew a six-month-old truce with Israel.

December 18 - Hamas declares the end of the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire, which expires the next day with a surge of cross-border fighting.

December 24 - Gaza Palestinian militants ratchet up rocket fire towards Israel: 41 rockets + 21 mortars.
December 25 - Gaza Palestinian militants ratchet up rocket fire towards Israel: 7 rockets + 7 mortars.
December 26 - Gaza Palestinian militants ratchet up rocket fire towards Israel: 1 rockets + 27 mortars.
