Description
I was gonna clump these two with a bunch of other "forgotten" characters but since their appearance in Sonic Mania Plus I just decided to upload them separately. I noticed that the original design of Mighty barely resembles a real armadillo, the ears only really seeming to be the accurate thing so trying to make an accurate armadillo character was interesting. I kinda based his look on how he appears in the Archie comics (the same with Ray) because those designs really suit the characters. Well Mighty's design suits Mighty's character, Ray I found out doesn't really have much of a character outside of wanting to help people and being scared easier than Mighty and Sonic which kinda made me force to use the same type of inspiration for Mighty because Ray is apparently just a character that follows Mighty around without having much of his own interests (which is hard to work with for character design). I could have given him his goggles that he has in the comics but I didn't want him to just be a less interesting version of Tails thus deciding to make him blue and yellow furred instead of just yellow. It also turned out that when you look up flying squirrels on the internet you will find that their tails aren't really squirrel tails like what the original design for Ray's is but they look more like a feather so I decided to go with that. Doing these designs now was more of a craving than anything and I may as well put them up now (was gonna do a background but I am lazy).
