Description
This is a self portrait that I took for my photography class last year. I scanned the print and noticed how scratched it is. When I started doing the miniscule touch-ups, I realized how "old" the scratches made this picture look, and I liked that about it. Which is why I didn't crop the white space around the outside, which is why you can still see the edges of the film frame. l think it adds a really nice feel to the photo. wow, such a noisy picture, though you appear to be seeking silence. this is an excellent capture, & it does have a very old feeling to it. the black & white adds to that so very much too. how'd the class like it...¿

i'm in love with this picture. i adore everything about it. I especially like the really rustic feel and the anonymity--there's something to be said for the fact that you have to look a lot closer to notice the little things that make you, well, you.

Very nice. Tree houses are special places, seperate from the world around them. This is nicely illustrated by the contrasting light between the "two worlds". The seemingly somber girl sitting on the edge of the two worlds makes it a very emotive piece as well. Well done.
The only constructive crit I might offer would be to straighten up the verticle lines of the doorway. Geometry is important. The dust and scratches I have no problem with as they do add to the feel imo.
Impressive piece! I'd like to see more like this.
