The sounds of night guide owls to their prey. This is part of my exploration of synesthesia in art.

This piece features 3D textures and inclusions of vole and shrew bones from educational owl pellets. They were treated and glued to the canvas using an acrylic medium, then dusted with gold powders etc. It is 16x20in on cradled masonite and was painted wrap-around.

This was my final piece for my residency Creative Quarantine via Art For The Soul gallery, it sold for $2500 at the show. It was painted January 2021.
