March, 2005. An FAC member requested that I attempt turning Squall and Seifer, from FF8, into ponies. I figured that since FF8 used a more realistic portrayal of the characters, that I'd try turning them into horses instead of the usual, chibified ponies that are typical of the MLP line.I wanted to include Squall's gunblade in the pic to match Seifer's... but I couldn't, because it made the pic feel unbalanced. The composition looks fine as is, but otherwise, the results didn't turn out as planned. Squall suffers from a lack of characterization, and there are various color and shading issues flawing up the whole piece. Squall's coat (especially the white collar) looks okay, but the rest... nope, I could've done better than that. I probably shouldn't have tried using inversion on this one -- normal shading would have looked much better.
