Description Step into a world of self-righteous lies,
Wear this foreign guise of human flesh.
Taught never to accept myself as I am,
Living by society’s image of perfection.
Hiding behind the mask of normality,
In this blind state of deluded confusion.

And I cry to the full moon on high,
Cry to the solitude of the night sky.
Soul longing to belong somewhere,
No home is found, I belong nowhere.

Walking through the masses of faces,
And I can feel that I don’t belong here.
I’m not like the others found around me,
A soul set apart from the rest of society,
Not meant to be a member of mankind.

And I cry to the full moon on high,
Cry to the solitude of the night sky.
Soul longing to belong somewhere,
No home is found, I belong nowhere.

Try to hold onto my unwanted humanity,
And cling to what sanity I have left inside,
As I maintain an image forced upon me.
But it’s hard to contain the beast within,
Contain it in a self-imposed cage of flesh.

And I cry to the full moon on high,
Cry to the solitude of the night sky.
Soul longing to belong somewhere,
No home is found, I belong nowhere.

And when the animal within threatens,
Tries to gnaw away its puppet strings,
I sink my canines in, bite my own hand.
The beast sleeps, lies dormant yet again,
Latent until the next struggle to get free.

And I cry to the full moon on high,
Cry to the solitude of the night sky.
Soul longing to belong somewhere,
No home is found, I belong nowhere.

Step into a world of self-righteous lies,
Wear this foreign guise of human flesh.
Taught never to accept myself as I am,
Living by society’s image of perfection.
Hiding behind the mask of normality,
In this blind state of deluded confusion.

I like this, mostly because I can relate. Kinda reminds me of my own poem 'Instincts Awaken' -->[link]
