She's playing with her food! lol..no she's not..don't worry, the bird is safe..they're friends XDSorry for the crappy title..i am TERRIBLE at titles -__-
This is the first full illustration that I've posted in a while..I had some free time, so I decided to finally upload something on DA!
-drawn on paper with 0.5 mechanical pencil, scanned, colored on photoshop
-I used illustrator to create the vines, and the brush i used for the border was found at www.obsidiandawn.com

i copied the lineart layer and i made it a multiply layer..and then i used gaussian blur..you don't want to make it too blurry tho

I really love the flow of the dress and the hair. And the dress just has the most dazzling wrinkles ever! The design of it is really pretty too, reminds me of those Victorian-styled dresses, or something...
Cute birdie too ^^ (all my birds look so dangerous '...' I think I better work on those guys)
Actually, I feel sort of needy to ask, but every time I scan a sketch that I want to colour digitally, I can't get rid of the stupid white background well enough! How do you do it?

hmmm....you can try messing with the lighting/contrast to make it brighter..and then just erase any of the parts you don't want? 
in this case, i just cleaned up my sketch..and i just added multiply layers on top and colored over it XD

I normally dislike dark colours, but the contrast between the dress and the girl's skin and hair colours really made me fall for this illustration! With her eyes reflecting (or seeing) the green of spring as well, it's just a really thoughtful touch ^^ I like it!
