Here is my submission to this contest.I chose to make this one full of symbols. To emphasize on the vs. nature of this contest.
With the emoticons being very obvious.
The omega symbolizes calamity or death.
The chinese symbols for Heaven(left) and Hell(right)
Pigeon for peace, crow for death.
Bloody(red) and Hope(blue)
And of course the overobvious light and dark.
