Thank you. I have been offered to write an article for Digital Camera magazine about it...but i still haven´t decided yet if i´m gonna do it or not.

Why wouldn't you? Is it like a magician revealing his secrets?

Why would i spend hours and hours of my life, putting together an article of > 3000 words and then get absolutely nothing for it? I kinda get insulted whenever one of the biggest magazines in the world expect people to do everything for free when they later on profit on every magazine they sell.

Oh, they aren't even paying you for it? Okay, that's lame. Unless you like writing or something.

I know right? I´m currently being represented by 3 different publishers and i hope to someday get the opportunity to publish a book on the subject...even if only a coffee table book. And then i would be a complete idiot if i first were to reveal all my pointers and secrets in a magazine that wont even grant me minimum wage.

An article in a magazine is a great leap forward in the process of recieving publicity. I would encourage you to do it, it would open so many doors to you, both for teaching and learning!

That is true...but at the same time i´m not gonna sacrifice my precious time that i rather spend with my son, writing an article for free. They asked me to put together an article of > 3000 words and photos and screenshots of the process...but they wont offer me anything for it. I find it kinda insulting that these huge magazines expect people to do volunteer work for them with the argument that it´s "good publicity".

I agree with you. If they want quality they should pay for it. I don't notice them giving away their magazines for free, with the idea that it would be good publicity for their magazine.

LMAO! Excellent point! I´ll be sure to keep that reply close at hand the next time someone asks me to do volunteer work.

Ah yes, I had imagined you would recieve some payment, or at least a subscription. There are definitely more important things in life than getting your name out there...

Aha..i agree. I´m used to getting at least something for doing stuff like this...be it memory cards or subscribtions...but nothing? Nope..that´s where i draw the line.
