Description
Topotto was the sweetest cat in the world.
He had been entrusted to us at two months old by our veterinarian to stall and care for him, along with his little brother Foggy.
They both had rhinotracheitis, but while Foggy recovered in a couple of days, Topotto's situation (whom we had named Matt Murdock AKA Darekitten, the kitchen devil for adoption purposes, at the time) was very serious.
His eyes were in such bad shape that when I took his adoption photos, I had to photoshop his glasses from his TV counterpart.
Foggy was adopted right away but Topotto was really in serious condition, so we decided to wait and continue treatment.
Meanwhile we tested him for FIV and FELV and he tested FIV positive.
No hope of adoption for him.
One eye was totally lost and we were fighting with therapies several times a day to save at least his other one, without success. According to the Veterinarian, however, he could at least sense light changes from that eye.
And so he joined our family of felines that no one had wanted to adopt.
I started buying noisy toys for him, which followed me everywhere.
When we moved, because he was far too resourceful and had learned to climb the garden fence, we were very worried about him.
Instead he learned the map of the house in no time and became able to dodge furniture while running after other cats. because he loved to play.
He was a silent kitten and to catch you attention he just used to put on of his paw on your legs, without claws.
He stayed wit us 3 years, untile the FIV took he away.
I loved him immensely and he knew.
Some month after he's death, we found a kitten identical to him, Bobbina.
A different personality, but lovely just the same.
