Zatanna is definitely my top favourite DC chick and it was awesome to cosplay her for ECCC 2012! I wore the costume all weekend with my girlfriend as Mikey and we had an absolute blast.This particular Zatanna costume is based off two different covers by Adam Hughes. He is one of my favourite Zatanna artists, and I just adore the small details he puts into every single one of his pictures.
Everything aside from the gloves, the tights and the tophat was made from scratch! You can check out more of my costuming work at @Miko-Style on deviantart, where I'll be posting more of the construction information!
Okay I lied THIS will be the last convention photo of Zatanna! I really adore this shot and am so glad to have another shot with the wand and hat, never leaving home without them!

I generally do the Northeastern US. My big one every year is Anime Boston, plus I try to hit a number of smaller or other local cons (ConnectiCon, Rhode Island Comic Con, Boston Comic Con, etc.). Once every few years I'll make the trip to NYC for New York Comic Con or Baltimore for Otakon. It looks like you're primarily west coast/Canada, yes?

Yes, I'm in Vancouver but I was an east coaster for years so I'm very familiar with all the conventions there!
I really want to try hitting up AB next year, I've heard it's an amazing con.

I've always had a blast at AB, but it's my hometown con - the first one I ever went to (2006) and the first one I ever cosplayed at (2007), so I'm probably biased

Thank you! I was pretty blown away by the competition, which was some of the most fabulous I've seen in years! I honestly didn't expect to win anything but was really happy when I did
The wait for the costume party was pretty tortured but in the end was pretty fun!

I think it probably could have done without the Karaoke interludes, but Karaoke isn't really my thing... and by 10:00 we were just like LET ME ON STAGE ALREADY ;-;

I haven't been to any Vancouver events yet though I'm considering it in future. I think I'd be more likely to go if a bunch of people I know were going, too. I haven't yet traveled any notable distance to an anime or video games convention. I try to go to the local ones though, so hopefully we can get tickets to PAX!

There are quite a few Vancouver events, it's going to be interesting to see what stands out this year since there are a lot of first year conventions popping up all in the same month. If you're looking for a good socializing/cosplay event I'd suggest Cos & Effect!
I'd love to go to PAX next year, unfortunately this year it just isn't in the schedule or budget

I've never read the Scarlet Witch, I just know she's a member of the Avengers...though I may be wrong. And Black Cat...well, I adore her and Spider-Man. Kinda like the Batman/Catwoman of Marvel.

Did you have a booth? It was a little difficult to get around the dealers room in costume so I didn't get to see a good half of it until I was wearing plain clothes on Sunday, but I might wear Zee again next year
