Description The Two Cleaners

Young girl stole an apple from the market this morning
An apple, and she came right at me
Was like a frozen moment, one of them awful films
Looked half starved to death she did, poor thing
But there’s no excuse for stealin, not a one
She was black from head to toe; an there was a bit o blue in there too
Even so can’t be doin with thieves
So why’d I let her go?

Saw a young girl steal an apple this morning, sir
I was standin quite a ways of, sir
Would o stopped her if I could, sir
But these ole legs ain’t what they were, sir
Hope they caught her and be done with her, sir
