The fluid you just stepped in is the glorious result from one of many experiments. This liquid was specially synthesized to be as similar as possible with real quicksand. You could compare its properties with corn starch mixed with water. This means: The fluid itself is pretty soft. You can sink in it. But here comes the crucial part: If the liquid starts moving it becomes hard. So if you step on the surface you will not sink at all. Only after standing still for some moments the fluid turns smooth again. Now you will sink in deeper.

If you have listened carefully, you should already know, what will happen, if you are trying to get out again. The liquid is going to be hard as rock. And that is not the only problem that you will have. The liquid itself is pretty sticky too. It is more sticky than glue. Trust me.

We used this liquid for training purpose: Our expedition team should learn, how to get out of this mud again. So they could explore your dark forest more and more. But the whole experiment was a failure!
No human was able to get out again. They all became completely stuck inside this liquid.

But YOU are the solution for our little problem. You will show us how to handle quicksand. I am sure, that you should be experienced with sticky situations, because your home forest is like a giant bog. So show us, how strong elves are.

By the way, you seem to be a little quiet. Are you able to speak as well?
