I’m beyond excited to be able to share the Freljord Splash illustration I created for Legends of Runeterra End of Year Winter Event! Huge shoutout to my good friend Matt Buchholtz for coordinating this opportunity and a big thank you to Serah Styles for overseeing the process!

The brief for this piece was somewhat open-ended which made it a ton of fun to work on! They wanted to communicate the idea of winter coming to tease their upcoming adventure in the Freljord. This piece includes the characters Scarmother Vrynna, Draklorn Inquisitor, Frostcoat Mother and the Snowy Razorclaw. I submitted several thumbnails and they decided to move forward with the concept of having the Draklorn Inquisitor looming in the background as a containing shape for the foreground scene with the other characters coming forward. The actual image was designed as a landscape/horizontal piece, but I was also given the option to compose the image in a square format which looks nicer as a thumbnail in the main gallery page.
