After I'd seen Prince of Persia for the first time, I knew that I just had to draw Jake Gyllenhaal, because... well... you have to admit that he looks pretty damn sexy in that movie!
And then I found this picture, which was absolutely perfect, and I simply couldn't stop drawing anymore. I'm really happy with the way it turned out - I hope you like it too! I want to dedicate this drawing to my friend =Cataclysm-X , who was just as excited for me to finish this portrait as I was.
And now bring on that final cheer, honey! *swings pompons*---
Pencil on paper
Size: 18,5 x 27 cm
Materials: 2B and HB mechanical pencils; H, HB, 2B, and 4B Bruynzeel pencils; kneadable eraser and regular eraser; blending stump, cotton buds, and tissues
Paper: A4 Canson paper, 180g, light grain
Time: 40-50 hours

Practice and patience are not really the problem, but the time. I have to work very long including hours of overtime ...
But you're right, these are the simplest and most important things to paint/draw great pictures!
One more question: How big is it? A4 or A3?
Besides, your picture would be a fantastic poster!
When I heard they've filmed the PoP and I read that Jake Gyllenhaal would play the part of the prince I was a little bit sceptical, because I know him from other movies and I was not sure if he would be the best person for the prince. But then I saw the movie posters and the trailer and I was melting.
And, honestly, that 10kg more muscles suits him very well ...

It's A4. 
I was skeptical too when I heard that Jake had been cast as Prince Dastan, but after having seen the movie, I can't imagine anyone else playing the character. And you're right: he doesn't look half bad.

i cannot even imagine how detail oriented you must be... because... that is probably the most realistic drawing i have ever seen. so much work must have gone into drawing all the details on his armor and on the dagger.... wow. amazing
