Description Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Bonus

Now we`re gonna take a dip to look at the various water-dwellers among dragonkind. While there can be water-loving species in any dragon clade, the gargoyles (1) are the ones truly devoted to aquatic lifestyle, as they even developed a whole new water-based weapon - a specialized branch of the digestive system that allows them to shoot water with a surprising force, sometimes injecting their venom into it for bonus toxin damage. Sea serpents (2) are simply the fully aquatic branch of gargoyles, some of which have modified their water-shooting apparatus to aid in filter-feeding. Naturally, they can reach enormous sizes, but are not very interesting from a design standpoint (you know, hydrodynamics...).
Among the swimming lindworms one small clade stands out for their surprising size and unusual shape. These are shallow water denizens with prominent forelimbs, including the large carnivorous mousewhale (3), able to grab prey from the shore, and the seagrass-grazing hippocamp (4). These animals lack even basic venom.
Another aquatic and mildly venomous group of unclear affiliation is comprised of the crocodile-like makaras (5) and more serpentine nagas (6). And finally, the dragon turtles (7) deserve a mention too - although ranging from the giant and fully-aquatic aspidochelone to the quite big and fully-terrestrial tarrasque, most of them are simple terrapin-like critters.
As one would expect, aquatic dragons tend to be live-bearing.
