Description Perphractus vepresis
A very tough omnivorous beastie, about 1 m long, covered in bony plates and able to curl up into a ball (so, essentially an amphibian armadillo). This is one of a few vertebrates that use their manipulators as an additional pair of legs. Also one of the few scavengers in its habitat.
Sharhuts often live in thornbushes for additional protection. Obviously, they are pretty much invulnerable to any thorns, and predators are not - except for the kogar with its armored face.
Jadongs often use sharhut shells for various crafts. Sharhut is a totem of commoners, as opposed to the noble ortagand - mostly for its size, various anatomical imperfections and especially lack of fastidiousness. However, this can also symbolize how those mongrels can have good defences, especially when they work together.
