SMOKING IS BAD, CHILDREN. BUT IT IS HILARIOUS WHEN CARTOONS DO IT.I'd like to thank my digital figure drawing class for being particularly boring tonight so i could finish this.
So, the thing I love about Arnold is that he's always so laid back, but when he snaps, he snaps good! I love his little flip-outs, so... the story behind this is something like... well upon looking at it again it really doesn't make sense, but it originally was that Arnold got so pissed off that he just felt the need for a smoke, even though he's probably never touched a cigarette in his life. Helga really likes his rebellious side. I dunno, make up a story.
Again, they're older, and their outfits are based off of 's designs. Check her out, for her style is so much cooler than mine.

..I have watched soooo much Hey Arnold! over the past three days.. seriously I think I need a support group.ITS SO AWESOME! and you're totally right I love it when Arnold flips out! I could totally see this happening! Even the smoking which is weird for me but you know I think its because they grew up in the 90's and well what else did people do in that decade? Anyway she quits soon anyway. sorry I'm developing issues. Love this though! Quite awesome!

Haha, and I don't really like the smoking either, but for some reason the idea wouldn't get out of my head. Dude I have so many mushies floating around in my head... like Helga doesn't smoke because she really wants to, but more like she feels like it's what she should do. I see her as getting fed up with herself for only being able to be mean to Arnold (and others), so she develops that sort of "Oh I must just be a bad person" thing like Kovu has. But then Arnold gets involved and then comes the whole "You're not bad, you're in charge of your own destiny" thing and blah... yeah... I'm tired. But now you got me started so Imma keep rambling.
I love how, in my mind, their relationship would be so... hm... how to put it...? Well, it's like, they kind of find out they like each other when they're still young, but for years they keep up this whole love-hate thing, with them arguing a lot, but then someone ends the argument by pulling the other into a random passionate kiss, and the other going "that's not fair!" until one night when they're sitting there and are like "Hey... we're dating, aren't we?" "What?! Hell no! We- ...Well, yeah, yeah actually, I think we are." "Oh... okay then." Lol awkward relationships make me happy.
Oh and then! And then! Well okay I'll admit I was reading fanfictions, which are not that good because they make them all lovey-dovey, but there was this one that inspired a thought. I think the first time Arnold says "I love you" would be an awesome moment. Like, Helga's obsession with Arnold is a case of psychological projection of all the love and admiration that she never felt she got from her parents, so someone willingly, out of the blue, saying that they love her would be like... whoa. She'd probably made him say it over and over. XD
Yeah okay I'm done ranting now. Wait... yeah. Yeah I'm done.

YES! OH MY GOSH YES!! I agree with all of the above! I totally think that after a certain age Arnold Totally knows that she likes him you know? and he doesn't ignore it but he like... how can I put this... tries to get her to admit it maybe? you know like all those horrible fanfictions, not just for this show but for like every pairing ever, were the guy totally knows that the girl likes him but wants to get her to admit it herself so he keeps like, brushing up against her and making her blush and everything.. am I making sense? anyway they're adorable and they have totally gotten my creative juices flowing, and its about time since I have been in a major writing slump lately. however I can't write because MY COMPUTER IS INFECTED!! Its hard to explain what it's infected with because its really complicated and such but the short version is in order to fix it I have to do a complete whip of my system and start clean. DAMN IT! oh and Helga would so make him say that he loves her all the time!! I can totally see it! its so cute!!

it will be all better by next weekend, but I have to wait for my daddy to mail the disks to me. and the worst part is I can't watch anymore Hey Arnold! Until he does! so sad. but I suppose I should look at it as time to decompress and distract myself with my harry potter addiction. which by the way I have some awesome story ideas for just so you know. I too love our combined obsessions they're a beautiful thing.

And I usually don't draw smoking characters, but... somehow it just suits Helga. XD And let's see... there's the April Fool's episode that had a lot of awesome Arnold flip outs... Girl Trouble has him retaliating against Helga... Uuuhh that's all I remember right now but I know there's more.
