Zooey had been standing her ground...but that wasn't saying much. Her guard was hanging low, and she felt Marine's punches sap her consciousness with each blow. But still, she was determined to stay standing. She had something to prove, and she was going to prove it no matter the cost.

The round was winding down, however. Marine wasn't as fresh as she hoped to be, despite controlling the pace of the match. Zooey had been poor when it came to offense, but when she caught Marine, she caught her good. If she could wait out the round, and recover...But Marine had other plans. The seconds remaining in the round continued to wind down, and Zooey was keeping her distance. Marine figured it was time to end things...for her own sake more than anything, as exhaustion looked to be catching up to her as well. But Zooey kept stepping away, and her frustration mounted.

"Grrrgh...WILL YA QUIT RUNNIN' AWAY?!" She shouted. She stomped down on Zooey's left foot as she tried to step back. Her surprise turned to anguish as another glove found its way slamming into her chest, making her yelp. She should've fought instead of running away...and now, Marine was going to make her regret it. A green streak flew towards her, and Zooey could only watch in horror as it slammed directly into her chin.

At that moment, the bell signaling the end of the round rung.
