Description
this is the second artwork for my final poster. here, the woman character is entering the fantasy world. i wanted it to look Indonesian cos this is a promotional poster for an digital painting exhibition with Indonesian Fantasy as it's theme, so i drew a Candi ( a historical building from Indonesia ) but in much simpler version, cos the real version is very very detailed and i dont have time to make one like that, gosh, early people are crazy, i dont know how they design that buildings. my friend helped me with the pencil sketch of the woman, fairies, and birds ( he's very good with girls )..actually he make the first composition, and i changed them the time it goes to photoshop.ok..hope y'all digs!

This is fabulous. I love this kind of illustration anyway, it draws me right into a story and makes me want to know the story. Thanks for providing the information that glorious building is a Candi, I would not have known that, thought it was original to you. Beautiful. The birds are tremendous and I guess there is a fairytale with those birds in it that I've never heard of, so are the fey characters and the portal is intriguing with that digital-pixel like breakdown at the corner.
Your palette is unusual and it's powerful but subdued, it whispers to me of other ways of looking at color and design. It's unique. I've favorited this because it's wonderful.

This painting is gorgeous, I love the colored birds (a theme I often use) and the whole idea of stepping into another world. It is amazing you created this on the computer, I would love to see any of your oil paintings (if you have any?)

This is fasinating!
Not only the colours and the perspective, and the way everything's so wondrously executed..
Just the idea of it! And the birds.. those must be my favorite. Reminds me of Aztec culture, with a magical twist.

I love how it's colorful, but the colors aren't overly bright, some even seem pretty neutral. And then the colors that are bright really stick out and drag you in. Awesome.

Oh wow! This really stuck out at me, and I had to see it. I'm usually not much of a fan of digital work, but... wonderfully, you've struck a very personal chord in me with this piece, and I really admire your craftsmanship. Stepping into another world, another time and place has always been a dream of mine, to transcend the mundane into the magical.
So I relate to this. <3 And love it.

WOW. I am a traditional painter, and I usually don't get into digital stuff or photography much. But this one really caught my eye---it looks so much like a fantasy oil painting rather than a digital creation. I'm not sure if that was your intent, but the outcome is magnificnt. I think the variety of colors is marvelous--brings the entire design to life, and I like to see people using a lot more color like in this peice. And the design itself is solid, a perfect degree of complexity. It's enough to make me want to go try digital art myself! Good work--keep it up!

wow, this is what this poster made for, to show the capabilites of digital paintings, not to be compared to traditional though, but just to stand just as tall, i mean, man..what's really is technique, there's a lot more important things than that, ideas! I think both digital and traditional are mediums to delivering messages, both have the same capabilites, and i dont like comparing one is better or one is worse, of course both has it's positive and negatives, but i shouldnt be used to push each other down. thanks for mentioning it, im so happy, im a traditional painter too, or at least, i was, but after this ( finals ) i'm going to try mediums that i havent touch before, like acrylics and oils maybe ( but for oils i have to save some money first, cos it's pretty expensive ^^ll )

I think I understand most of what you are saying? I disagree that both digital art and traditional art have the same capabilities--I think different kinds of paint as well as different digital programs have different technical capabilities, but I do absolutely agree that it's more important to focus on the design itself. Still, the final version of this deviation is great--it looks so fluid, like oil paint (which I only used twice), so keep up the good work.
