Description
So less than a week ago, my first unpainted mini arrived, and although I didn't have model paints, just my usual Apple Barrel/Liquitex/Golden, I could not wait to paint it. I started on a Thursday, and finished on Saturday, so only few days on and off to finish. Just needs some grass tufts to go with the grit and sand from around my yard, and a piece of painted broken basket for a cactus (I don't have modelling materials, as I'm new to this, and don't know yet if I'll stay with this hobby).
I've had experience touching up minis before, and painted on clay and rocks, but this is the first time I painted an entire mini.
I like how it turned out for only using craft and artist acrylic. For the upper wings and the 'drybrushing', I used a bit of yellow foam/sponge thing to gently pat color on the raised areas.
Even though I don't play Dungeons and Dragons (though I collected the Minis from the skirmish game many years ago), I still like the lore and the creatures... especially the dragons.
I actually uploaded a variation of this on a different site yesterday, but this one has a different angle pic that I didn't upload on the other site.
So, obviously, I didn't make the figure, (Wizards of the Coast/Wizkids/etc. is behind that), I did paint it.
