Gorgeous! I love how detailed it is. You did really great work drawing all those scales-like patterns on its skin. It looks natural and beautiful. Also, I like the colours combination used for water, I think that it looks very good.

Is it Tessa Turtle or Tommy Turtle swimming in the sea,
How does one define the gender? Tis hard you will agree
You can study from all angles and peek beneath its shell
and know its beauty and its wisdom but its sex is hard to tell!

Ha ha Thanks for the lovely little poem, so sweet
I know a male land tortoise has a inward dent at the bottom of its belly to help it stay on the back of the female´s shell when they are mating, the female´s belly is completely flat. Maybe sea turtles have the same or something similar but then they would mate at sea, so maybe they have a completely different method

You learn something new every day. Doesn't sound too exciting that inward dent but then I'm not a turtle!

My friends tortoise Peterchen fell in love with a tree root, he´d race out of his house first thing in the morning across the garden to his beloved tree and would then hug it to bits while making very strange noises

That's really sweet. I didn't think tortoises made noises, I thought they were silent! Problem with tree roots is that as far as love is concerned they don't give a lot in return!

The only thing they have in common is they are the same colour, otherwise she is always there for him and never nags ha ha

I like the way he/she floats lightly in your work. Great work.
