---4 AM, she whispered to me in bed that she'd be back in an hour. Drowsiness reeled back my words into whimpers. 5 AM, awake on an empty bedside, I shook myself out of bed and checked up on a tip from the office. I drove down to an empty warehouse just to see an armored car roar off before I could catch it. I bolted into the warehouse for any trace only to find her tucked between some empty crates, in costume, her pretty little frame trussed up in both rope and spandex, cheeks ablaze in crimson. She moaned into her ballgag at my taunts.
"This is why you call me before stride into these situations."
"Mmmphm."
I grabbed a banana atop one of the crates, probably left by one of the henchmen in a rush between a lunchbox and a mug of half-sipped coffee, and bit off a piece.
"I should just leave you here until you've learned you lesson."
She turned her head aside, shaking it and gently undulating in her bonds.
I patted her thigh. "But you now I can't, huh?"
She smiled against the ballgag between her lips.
