Do you ever love something as a child, and then realise as an adult that it wasn't all that good, but you don't care because you still love that something so damn much? If you understood any of that, that sums up my feelings on the Cars franchise. Yes, I know it really isn't anything special. But you will pry my nostalgia for this franchise out of my cold dead hands. I've been super into Cars since the first movie came out (when I was FIVE), and still like it now. Even thought I'm a grown woman who's currently 22 years old.

I don't know what spurred me to actually draw it, though. I think a review of the franchise on YouTube got me interested, and then I had a burst of inspiration. Little Me had also tried to draw McQueen a couple of times, but, uh... well, she was five. Do you expect anything of high quality? So I chose to draw these characters again as an adult, to give Little Me the satisfaction she deserved. Also just wanted an excuse to do a night time driving scene, which I really haven't done yet. Takes place between 1 and 2, seeing as McQueen has no headlights. This 'photo' was taken mere seconds before they raced off into the night, I'm sure.
