Zim is an alien with designs on conquering the Earth, while Dib is determined to stop him at every opportunity. GIR and Gaz don't really have a stake in the conflict, but get dragged along in the battles anyway.

EDIT: Congrats on Zim getting revived as a comic. It's very well-deserved, and I look forward to buying the first ish. Here's hoping it's longer-lived than the show was.
