art featured on Zack's page :^)explanation, sornieth (the dragon planet) doesn't have stuff like materia to my knowledge. dragons cast spells using their inborn flight abilities, some breeds are more naturally inclined than others. so a lightning dragon like sephiroth would be able to cast lightning spells, zack water spells, and so on. but he found a weird stone... left behind by the ancient two-legged beastclan... it seems to harbor some powerful magic... hmmmmmmmm
side note - genesis is also a lightning dragon (angeal too due to their 'creation' by ShinRa, which i think would be Lightning-based due to it being an electric power company, among other things), but in my lore at least he still loves setting stuff on fire. probably harnessed some sort of spark-type magic, like a fireSTARTER, and uses other stuff to keep it going. magic!!! :^D
(another side note - dA fu*ked up notifications and now i don't understand how to see what the people i watch post??? and how to delete notifications? man alive...)
