Call him a neck beard and he will eat your arteries.|
I haven't been very confident about the quality of my art lately for some reason. I guess it's because I've put away my old aspirations to be a master concept artist for movies and stuff. Just really not my kind of job I'd rather find my own unique way I guess. With that said, enjoy this random sketch I decided to turn into a gray scale painting. Don't feel like making anything else really... ππ₯

I can totally understand the feeling of "my artistic capabilities aren't great enough" and not feeling content about own arts in general, it's a legit feeling that all artists are having (more or less constantly) or will resent in their life. It's hard to deal with, it can be depressing, it can cause artblock, and is generally very discouraging.
The best way I could find to deal with it myself is to turn it into a motivation and personal goals. "My art isn't that great" will be turned into "I may need to train more on some artistic subjects, but I already achieved quite a lot and training will help me get better" Like, being positive about it, and trying to transform your insecurities into reasons to not give up on what you've already learned in your life!
You're still young and your work is already really neat, if you keep on training, you will improve even more!
Although it's a valid feeling, trying not to let it bring you down is essential. You know the whole "glass half empty/glass half full" thingy? That's the mentality I'm trying to explain (quite badly tho ahah-)
And it's not easy to try and get a job that you'll fully like and where you'll be able to blossom artistically, but that doesn't mean the "perfect work" for you doesn't exist! The artistic industry is harsh and there's a lot of competition in it, but hey, if you keep fighting for what you truly love and wish, I'm certain it'll pay off!
As for the art itself, I'm always impressed by the quantity of details you put in your work, it's really pleasant. The "sketchy" side of the painting is adding to the creep factor of the creature, the elongation of the neck and head makes me think a lot of reptiles and birds, especially with the large eyes (like, large predatory birds-).
In short: I love the design, and calling him a neckbeard would be very tempting but sadly I need my arteries intactΒ
