Description "If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is infinite." William Blake 1790

Full View Recommended.... can't see overall scale otherwise

Anyone who I have commented on over the past couple years has seen the quote before. This is what i have wanted to make but didn't know how to express it until know.
Messing with just the textures for weeks... wanted a wet paint look.
This is the first of many revisions. There is a reason for everything in the scene... even the levitating little ones
Layout will get more complex as my machine is upgraded.

Update:
Just purchased Cinema 4D 8+ upgrade to 9.0..... I highly recommend to anyone trying to expand out of Bryce and go
to the next level

*rubs eyes* ... *blinks* that's...not...real?! wow. I cannot tell you how many films I've seen where the computer generation is crap and i could call it right away, despite the fact all the critics were all "omg, the graphics are amazing!!11one". i couldn't be certain this wasn't a photograph until after i looked, very hard and for a very long time, i realized it was made on a computer. i thought maybe you were lying absolutely amazing. wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. a plus plus

Waargh ... I promised ya to make a comment ... I had NO time until now ... but now I saw this one on the todays favourite in the Digital Art / 3dimensional Gallery .... VERY nice... And I think this one is pretty worth it!

I think a fullview is a must to get the full experience of this picture. The background isn't the best in this one and I don't like it THAT much but I really like the reflections and the dolls in this one! I know that they are made with one click in C4d R9 ... but I don't know how you got the pose that good ... well whatever! All in all this wallpaper has a nice athmosphere and a very meditative, silent feeling!

good job!

Wow...

I really like the depth of this, the fractal-esque look of symmetry on different scales. I also like the texture of the ground, has sort of an icy look. The background fits well, and does not distract from the focus of the image.

Perhaps if you added some "atmospheric touches", such as a slight foggy blur... that would give the image more of a cold, icy, arctic feeling.

Anyways, I give this 3 thumbs up! ;D

That is absolutely beautiful! Love the slight bump, or appearance of wav on the figures. The backgound really gives it a since of depth and the reflections are perfect. Excellent render!

Sushi - Great quality render, I like the lighting and composition; as mention already I think the background if tweaked could enhance the overall message/feel of the scene.... Keep up the good work.....

Great overal job !
Nice concept, nice reflections (HDRI right ?), nice character, nice texture.
Maybe one little thing to improve , is that the background doesnt seem to match the environment seen thanks to reflections

U did someting great !

You have good reason to be proud of a work like this. Philosophically rooted artwork has potential for the greatest level of aesthetic value, if you ask me. I'm starting to learn Cinema 4D and the execution of this alone blows me away. :fav:

Very nice. Very nice indeed. Makes me wish I had somthing better then my accursed Carrara 3. Curse you old technology. Any way very nice. Was the HDRI file out-of-the-box, or did you make it, download it somewhere else......
By the way, like the models. remind me of maniquins. I've been messing with the Carrarra maniquins. great fun!

It has a nice little message/inspiration to it, that I am a big fan of. As for the technical parts, I think the HDRI is a nice touch and this inspires me to get into HDRI more and more. I think the base material is good but I think that if you're going to be as close up to it as we are, you may need to have it be a little more detailed than it is right now. I really like the chrome that you've created for the rings, that came out wonderfully. The scene is set up nicely, and I think the sphere in the middle really adds a nice depth to it. On the other hand, I think that the smaller recursion of the model in the outer rings may be a little bit superfluous and maybe takes away from the scene as a whole, then again, that's a personal opinion. Either way, looking good and nice to hear from you again.

It's real nice man, I like it.
Almost wished you'd used maybe a different character, although the lack of expression here is probably what makes it nice.
Also, it's a shame the cirlcular splines didn't connect better, or overlap somewhat.

But overall, I like the usage of HDR and always a big fan of things that shine.

Around 2 weeks to get everything just right. 24hours and 45minutes to render.
HDRI and Radiosity took longest. Thanks for the comment.

WOW! This is a really spectacular idea, and a perfect render. I really like the warm and cool contrast, it really makes for nice reflections. The idea of putting a smaller scale scene embedded in the larger one has a lot of symbolism toward life and groups in general, I really like this. Wonderful idea, and great job pulling it off! really great stuff

my first impression was "where's the next level down in the recursion?" it would be great to put at least one more grouping down that's smaller. also, it feels like each smaller group should be closer to the plane; the smaller group that's there now looks like it's floating way higher than the big group, since it's at the same height yet much smaller. 6 inches above the ground is much larger to an ant than a giant

can't wait to see this one evolve.

Very nice. I agree with the previous commentors who said you should add more sets of people sitting in each tiny set (so its kinda like a fractal)... You might want to lower the people because it seems like they are levatating (unless that was intentional)

I love how the curved reflection of the rings make them look like a grid of straight lines.

Awesome materials btw

lord-zany [2004-09-29 00:16:41 +0000 UTC]

It's a damn nice render, great reflections and all that. The composition is alright, but some things could be changed, IE the background. It's not distracting of in the way,but that may be the problem. Needs more to it.

And I'm not fond of the littler versions of the big version (of the guys around the ball) O_o

else, it's quite nice

ps. don't note me to comment, take what you get when you get it. I'll comment exactly when i mean to.
