so...i decided to do a remake of the "dead series 1" [link] as it had many faults that u ppl pointed out as well. those things haunted me and i wanted to know if i could do better. i knew i could and i know there's _still_ room for improvement.anyway so what did i do differently ? not all things can be seen in this pic but i'll list them anyway:
-no cut wrists. u don't kill anyone by cutting their wrists.
-more blood. when a throat is cut, the person bleeds to death... most of it went down the drain here...
-the bruises on the other side of the face= can be seen better.
-a small stab wound in the chest
-more blood in the hands. if your throat is cut, you'll try to stop the bleeding, even if it's no use cos you'll die anyway !!
-the bleeding is the right direction. the chest wound has righteously bled downwards as well since it came first, and the blood from the throat is pretty much all over... (umm, u should see the wall)
-a small wound on the forehead.
-a bruise/wound on the knee.
and to those of you who don't know; this doesn't need to be taken seriously. but i hope u feel something. like bad. most of us are so used to seeing dead in the movies that we don't even blink an eye. i want you to remember how violence feels like.
with that said i can add this is not a perfectly reconstructed death scene since it usually looks even so much uglier...in fact, it's ironic how this, and my other work, takes so much influence from the movies
and in the end, besides being in a way serious about this, i did this laughing and i hope u have you're sense of humour as well. so figure this out...
and since ppl often ask: i use fake blood, different kinds of. here:
-paste-like, dark. in the wounds, lip. dries but looks wet.
-liquid, milky. all over hands, floor, nose....
-liquid, almost creamy. (can be put in the) mouth.
geez what a novel.... ok, i hope u like it, i do. the colors are crappy cos a Sony digital camera was used. it was terrible. will never try it again. helping me was ~sininen just like last time.

Kudos for doing something different than the masses, like yours truly. Your composition is very stark and bold, a very nice emphasis on the brutality of the "death". I won't add my 2 cents to the "realism" tips, it seems that most of it has already been covered.

I think it would be a great addition to this place to be able to submit artwork and have an option to allow comments or not.

i think it's sad that one of the top daily favs is a picture like this .. to me it shows what sick minds some people have .. nothing against the artist here .. i can see their valid point of trying to make people feel something .. and it is indeed a quality photo .. but the fact that so many people are attracted to something like this disgusts me

OK... All we know this is not a site to SHOW the Horrors or the Premature Brutal Dead. or to give MORE blood to some people... is to show WORKS.

and I see in this Picture Excellent MakeUp, excellent Angle, excellent illumination, excellent focus... A B S O L U T AWESOME.
Is EXPRESSIVE and sometimes EMMOTIVE: Expressive 'cause shows pain, hurt, sadness, dead, madness, and EMMOTIVE 'cause makes you feel THINGS.. or not "kinesthesia" ????
and it's a Good JOB, a great performance, excellent work with a lot of ellements.

I came to here to shout at you saying this was a rip off of some very good, work, and then I got here and thought, wow this is awesome, then I checked your nick and it's you again, with so many improvements, this is amazing. I love it even more than the other one, this is sooo brutal and personal and gorgeous.

ahhh yes more "shock art". I guess this is better than someone puttting fish in a blender and calling it art or someone pissing in a cup and calling it art. Blood def. looks fake as do the lacerations. Blood should be darker especially on those tiles. Ive seen blood come out peoples mouths and ears and nose, but thats from head trauma. The blood does kinda puddle in the cracks which is good. but there should be more puddling or a sign of a struggle. If you were dying and choking on your blood would you lay there motionless? nah Eyes just dont fit. Maybe having a bloody razor laying on the tile might give it an effect its missing. It is missing alot. Its a shame she prob messed up her clothes. Needs work if ur going for realization.

THE GOODS:
The eyes are cold (especially the one closest to the ground) and are empty and the makeup really helps convey this. I love the hand placement, they look like they just plopped down as if you were trying to stop the bleeding but gave up. Blood positioning is great and quite vivid, good distribution too.
THE BADS:
The blood is a bit too light and red. I think a greater message would be understood if the blood was richer and darker. Also, when someone slits their throat (so I think) will hold their throat like they are choking but I do not see and hand marks on your throat.
OVERALL:
Excellent conveyer of feeling and excellent photograph.

1st thought that comes to my mind that its disturbing, which should be good cause thats what you're trying to get at.. its a really good interpretation.. This makes me think three things:
1. This is truly disgusting.
2. However, you get points for the whole provoking thought and feelings of mortality bit. Nicely done.
3. All you people giving pointers on how it should really look: How do you know what a murder scene looks like? This is almost more disturbing than the actual picture itself!

god! some people are so dumb! as most of you consider yourselves artists, the first thing you should know is that there are NO BOUNDARIES IN ART! no matter how sick it is. So there is art where its painting scenery and shit and then then theres art where you stick an umbrella on a chair...not even visual stuff! look at music and movement and speech.
There was a case where some dumb college student skinned a cat alive, video taped it alland submitted it as an assignment. sick huh! yeah well no matter how much you piss and moan, its still considered art. as long as its art in someones eyes

when i first made my comment, i hadnt read the others and shaw the vast amount of people that fail to judge this piece as art, not their values. it seems half of these people didn't even read the description. art isn't always pretty, and just because it makes you disgusted, does that mean it didnt fufil its purpose? followghost said this better than i, but please, judge this on what it is. the title isnt "YAY FOR DEATH AND VIOLENCE".
