Description
so...i decided to do a remake of the "dead series 1" [link] as it had many faults that u ppl pointed out as well. those things haunted me and i wanted to know if i could do better. i knew i could and i know there's _still_ room for improvement.anyway so what did i do differently ? not all things can be seen in this pic but i'll list them anyway:
-no cut wrists. u don't kill anyone by cutting their wrists.
-more blood. when a throat is cut, the person bleeds to death... most of it went down the drain here...
-the bruises on the other side of the face= can be seen better.
-a small stab wound in the chest
-more blood in the hands. if your throat is cut, you'll try to stop the bleeding, even if it's no use cos you'll die anyway !!
-the bleeding is the right direction. the chest wound has righteously bled downwards as well since it came first, and the blood from the throat is pretty much all over... (umm, u should see the wall)
-a small wound on the forehead.
-a bruise/wound on the knee.
and to those of you who don't know; this doesn't need to be taken seriously. but i hope u feel something. like bad. most of us are so used to seeing dead in the movies that we don't even blink an eye. i want you to remember how violence feels like.
with that said i can add this is not a perfectly reconstructed death scene since it usually looks even so much uglier...in fact, it's ironic how this, and my other work, takes so much influence from the movies
and in the end, besides being in a way serious about this, i did this laughing and i hope u have you're sense of humour as well. so figure this out...
and since ppl often ask: i use fake blood, different kinds of. here:
-paste-like, dark. in the wounds, lip. dries but looks wet.
-liquid, milky. all over hands, floor, nose....
-liquid, almost creamy. (can be put in the) mouth.
geez what a novel.... ok, i hope u like it, i do. the colors are crappy cos a Sony digital camera was used. it was terrible. will never try it again. helping me was ~sininen just like last time.

You amaze me as always with your beautyful images of death and the blood looks oh-so-nice against the white floor. +fav indeed

I have a couple of comments on this:
(1) Death is the ultimate form of entertainment. I don't need an explanation, people go to see horror movies to see the death scenes. This is similar in that it is a form of art. So for all of those people saying they dislike it because it's "grotesque", of course it's grotesque! That's its purpose! Art is there to make an impact on the viewer, and if this is the impact suzi9mm wanted to make on her audience, then VERY WELL DONE.
(2) I particularly like the pose. A bit cliche if you don't mind me saying, but it's pretty good all the same. You could have tried using different shades of red for the blood... And if her throat really had been slit, there would be A LOT more blood. heh.
Me likes. Keep up the good work

I dont't like that. In my oppinion art should inspire you and give you things to think about. Help you to develope yourself and your work, should widen your thoughts to other areas and help you to get another view on things.
Sorry, but this is not colorful in any way, and except for sadness and disgust nothing comes to my mind.

Brilliant work. Not seen something as well composed as this in a long time. One thing I would consider is not having the foreground hand there, as it kind of takes away the beauty of the image as a whole. Perhaps have it more in the background? I don't know, you're the photographer, not me
Great piece. Well done.

Very nice job, has that theatric approach to it. Nothing is perfect in the realism aspect, but you did a great job. A lot of people comment on the fact that is just a violent picuter, disturbing, etc. Good angle and a different approach that many dont take towards art and photographs.

very nice piece, very nice.... i'd suggest that you make her looking straight forward on your next one... she's looking at the ground, and you can tell she's focused.... make her looking straight ahead, and maybe those contacts are a good idea, but make sure she's just staring blankly if you don't get them, because she's consciously focusing on something.... which doesn't happen when you're dead

It is well done. It's true, that we are mostly desensitized from TV and movies... but I am one of the few that is still very bothered by things like this. I dont faint at the sight of blood or anything but.. seeing this its just like Uhhhuhuhuh *shivver* CREEPY! and and.. PAINFUL looking too! But thats just me. I cry when animals run out into the road for goodness sake! Good work. It really does look real.

Well done....very well done indeed...the only thing i can see other than the eyes...would be that teh blood does not look reall......when you got real blood..its a bit darker...especialyl after youve been laying there for a few hours...try deepening the red a bit... .. her eyes are a easy fix...shes focusing...you gottta not focus when your eyes are open...you know..make everything look fuzzy to her...let eh eyesjsut relax.... that way tehy look a littel glazed and thus..dead.... ... i dunnio...try mixing some jello into the blood?..jsu t a little so you get that clotty look and feel to it... pluss the darker look *grape jello mabe?...just a little tho....but this is sooooo sweet... looks almost liekthe real thing...except that withthe real thing the blood tends to ..um...fill..or pool...you woudl see it as tho it was water flowing... casue the blood would pour out more after the body is laying there, the blood jsut flows out...especialyl when the heart stopes..it starts to.....um...ok i'm goign inot a lil to mouch detail....hehehhehe

I'd say the only reason I like this deviation is only for all the work that went into this.
While I love dark art, I don't really get off on shock art - why not go for the gold, and just photo the actual act to really turn some stomachs. Let's get in some good rape shots, too...bring in some more guys to hold you down while they take turns. Get one to hold a gun to your jaw while they rape you. Yah...that's cool. *rolls eyes* No no...what about a guy slicing your breast with a knife, and sticking his hand in the cut to feel them from the inside. Oooh....tasty.
Hahaha...great work as far as the effort...still...not my thing.

one`d think you actually killed someone to make this photo...
it makes peope reallise they are mortal, death is as natural a part of life as birth(remember that) this is not good for disturbed people i think,
her eyes are a bit `alive` though, how about making the next picture with a `dead`stare? just a suggestion
no matter... +fav
good work

somehow I can't belive that 88% percent of the voters here are satisfied with this...
I first saw this picture last night (CET) short after it was published and I thought something like "well, this one will get a lot attention and very controverse comments" but since the ABSOLUTE majority of the viewers "love" this one I kind of loose my faith that there is still some hope for mankind left.
suzi9mm said in her description: "this doesn't need to be taken seriously"
well, but how should someone take this? for fun?
is this the advanced version of the child-game "playing dead"?
if this is ART than all murderers are artists - and 88% of you think so.
maybe for suzi9mm it was just fun doing this - it's her business and some viewers may really like this picture even though they feel bad about it BUT I'm pretty sure that many others who voted "like deviation" really get a thirll watching this.
how about making some psycho-porn the next time? *sad sad world*

I think that you should seriouly look into doing some volunteer work a some sort of truama center and see for yourself how it is when a child really bleeds to death because his father didn't lock his handgun away properly before you decide to take so lightly subject matter such as this.
I think that there is enough out there to construe as art... why not leave this alone next time.

You can't slit your own throat. As soon as you jab the knife into your neck, reactions yank it out. I hope this fad/obsession with self mutilation/suicide is almost over... its getting old. Good camera angle though.
Im curious to see how many prints of this you sell.

Once again you have manage to twist my gut and make my jaw drop. This is by far better improved. I like the way you think about staging the whole thing. Blood flowing down the drain, blood smeared across the tiles, gash right below the hairline, hands caked with blood as she was trying to grasp onto her throat for air after it was slashed, and thereβs even blood on the wall! I can really image her death scene right in my head. Bravo! This is awesome. Please continue deviating more of you dead series.

I noticed someone wanted you to buy some contacts ?????????? the eyes really look dead to me. Good one, Only one thing its a small one but nonetheless, next time you mix up a batch of blood it might be a tad darker. Just my personal opinion. Overall stunning and disturbing, and you know I like it............

Death-"No this is just trying to shock people and coming off stupid... its nothing new... get over it." LOL and this comes from someone with the nick Death. ROFL
You did a much better job on this one. Congrats on doing the homework and coming up with a much more visual and realistic image. The wound on the head is quite good as well. There are some suggestions that I see have been posted so I shall not repeat those. The blood splatter methodology is alot better this time as well.
