Description
The Youngling sensed the commotion a minute before anyone else knew anything was going on. A smoking Jedi temple and a dark hooded figure.She had seen it clear as day. She thought it was part of the meditation to see visions such as this. This was only her second meditation instruction, after all.
Seconds later, their Jedi Consular instructor was up and alert, sensing the same, although she knew it was no vision.
She bolted to the door and turned to the younglings, telling them to stay there and stay away from the door as she ran out, igniting her green saberstaff as she did.
By now, they could hear the commotion—yelling and blaster bolts; the smell of smoke had started to fill her nose.
Who would dare attack the Temple?
This room was a deathtrap if they were discovered; the only way out was the window, and none of them had even a training saber.
She sensed she had to go; she pleaded quickly with the others to come, but none agreed except Jem and Sarah. She hit the door console button and peered out into the hallway—nothing.
The three of them ran out of the room to the left, toward the turbolift at the end of the long hallway near the reception. Then, commotion at the end of the hall—a Clone Trooper!
She screamed, “Over here!” The trooper immediately raised his blaster to fire three short bolts, missing her but hitting Jem square in the chest as he was thrown back onto the floor.
They rushed down the hall and around the corner, blaster bolts popping off along the wall. Had the troopers not recognized them, and where was Sarah?
A quick look behind her revealed Sarah lying face-first on the red carpet, her back smoking from a direct blaster hit.
She bolted down the next hall to the reception area, taking a look around to make sure everything was clear,
then another bolt from across the reception— another clone trooper with his blaster raised and firing. Then thwap! A blue lightsaber appears as if from thin air from the hallway beside the trooper,
cutting off his forearms and disappears just as quickly; he then flies toward the wall with a thunk. A young Padawan whom she didn’t know appears from the hallway.
Noticing her, he yells for her to come with him; she rushes to him. He tells her the upper levels are overrun with clone troopers blasting everyone.
They must be traitors of some kind. Then the troopers from the hall behind them appear, blasting away, the Padawan deflecting the bolts, one hitting a trooper.
However, the Padawan is not so lucky as the next bolts strike him in the shoulder and thigh; he drops to the floor but not before throwing his lightsaber to cleanly remove the trooper’s head,
returning the still-lit blue lightsaber easily to his palm. Lying unable to move, he tells the Youngling to take the weapon, a two-handed long type, much too large for her;
she takes it and clips it to her belt as she starts to help the Padawan to his feet, he tells her she cannot carry him and to go quickly;
she needs to go now and get to the turbolift— the upper levels are all hoarded with troopers; take the turbolift down to the sublevel docks,
a way out will present itself there. Blaster fire erupts again around the room; troopers at the end of the long hallway have spotted them;
he tells her to go now! She bolts to the turbolift, locked down! She tries the buttons again, locked! She quickly snatches the saber, ignites the long blue blade,
and begins to cut an oval hole in the turbolift door; the metal falls down the empty shaft into the darkness. The Youngling moves quickly to peer inside, empty! Nothing on the floors below either.
She lunges to one of the thick cables and begins to descend hand under hand. She hides behind paneling as the troopers appear at the turbolift door; they can’t see her from there.
The frustrated troopers fire three shots down the dark shaft. Agitated, they move away back into the Temple.Now she was clear all the way to the sublevels;
she climbed down for what seemed like hours before finally a ladder. She hopped to it. and began moving quickly down.
She made her way to the bottom of the shaft to the loading dock. Here she could get out, no way the trooper force was big enough to cover all the way down here, was it?
To risky to try a door, she lit the large saber, cutting through the wall of the shaft, she hops out of the molten hole onto the dock decking swirling with smoke and steam.
Then a loud thunk from a short distance away, a large loader droid had noticed her, it's red ocular lights taking in information.
It stomped again toward the Youngling, this thing wasn't on thier side anymore, and the only way out was around it or through it...
