This is crazy man, i dunno how u r so good with terragen. The small amount of clouds over the far mountains and moon/planet really add to the effect, u still amaze me with your landscapes. Keep it up

Whilst the terragen is as gorgeous as it should be, I reccomend a lot more variation and sharpness on the planet, with the same in the stars too... they look far too uniform, and bland.

Also, if the sun is to the right of the image, why is the lighting on the moon from the top? The left star isn't enough to project that much brightness.

I LOVE ur picture.......... ^^(from a freind sitting next to me)
The moon in the center is really expressive, it's like a dream.
Like looking at a warm bright light but it doens hurt your eye...I could look at it for months...

I don't see how this got like 400 favourites, it's insane. I mean, the planet aint nothing special, and the terrain is only ok. The clouds are actually pretty crappy if you ask me, so overall imo this a so-so pic. Ah well, think it's just me, if it gets 400 favs, then smthn MUST be wrong with me.

I dont know whehter there is somthing wrong with the picture, or as u sugegsted, with u , . .. .
anyways, some artists tend to dislike others' art.
Nothing abnormal about u disliking this one,
But please dont use words like the ones you have used to describe the clouds in it. allright?
In my opinion, the reason why people liked this was because of the color scheme, the reduced contrast, the fairy tale ambiece and clouds, and the overlord like planet and mystique water, in case u had cared to see it

I'm sorry, my language was perhaps a bit strong, so for that my apologies. But I think I'm a pretty objective art viewer.....as in I don't feel like I need to handicap the competition.....I aint even got a prints account, so why bother ......anyways, I think what you said about ambience and stuff indeed makes this piece have such an appeal to many ppl, which on its own is quite an achievement
I think I just look at stuff from a more technical point of view......anyways, congrats on the coverage with your work

terragen work is brilliant. great texturing and coloring used.
obviously there's no real way to make terragen clouds look better in terragen, but you could've done some improving in photoshop.
as for the stars: very quick-photoshop looking
and the planet is very amateur.
however, even with all that, I can't help but be absolutely dazzled by the mountainscape.

O_O Wow.
That's all I can say.
I can never get the bump mapping to look so realistic when I render in Terragen.. How did you do it? You did use terragen, right?
Any way, amazing work! +fav!

Looks like Terregan, so I'm gonna take a guess and say that it is.
Not bad, though the clouds are quite empty. Clouds can always add depth to a scene. Even if you're at the highest peak, a show of clouds beneath you works just as well.
The texturing and mapping is quite good, though your landscape modeling could use a little variation. Since you're going for a fantastical (aka farytale/science fiction) setting, a less "regular" looking landscape can add a lot to the fantasy elements.
Your use of the volumetric fog is good. Some parts could use more of it (particularly the peaks at the far-right corner) and some could do without it. Though it may just be artist' own taste.
Overall, it's very nicely done.
Keep up the good work.

thanks for hte comment
But I HAD tried making the clouds more volumetric . .. the more space the clouds occupy, . . .then the 'negative space' . . .the blue sky will get less impetus. and.. . .if the clouds were nicely done. . . they would have been distracting!
and . . if I had added more fantasy elements . ..the feel of 'silence' would be gone

This IS a masterpeice. Its sooooo "woah" and its awesome! a thousand compliments to you. This is really good! someone probably already asked this but 'What program did you use to produce this?' I use 'bryce 5' and I haven't been able to do anything like this! (unless if I sit down and work on it for a week or so!)
