Description finally I completed this piece

It took 3 renders of 4000x3000 (one render for mist, one for lighting, one for specializing in the sky brilliance) , then .. ..lots of layer styling . .. .

I hope you people like this :hope:

make another attempt ! (if u got time though!)

more, render a 400x300 first, only if it comes well render a bigger one

Swaroop In reply to TheMax13 [2004-09-12 18:26:59 +0000 UTC]

its no big secret!

u only gotta make more than one render of teh same scene (but with sun and atmosphere at different positions) then, blend them in a software like gimp or photoshop .. .

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheMax13 In reply to Swaroop [2004-09-13 04:12:00 +0000 UTC]

i'd like to but my computer is so slow that it can take up to _over_ one hour on just making a render in 800x600, then think about a 1280x960 render in five layers, how much time that'll take
Well, who cares about that anyway?

Swaroop In reply to TheMax13 [2004-09-13 04:17:49 +0000 UTC]

if ur comp is so slow in rendering,
i would sugest render with lower quality settings (for atmosphere) , . . .and touch up lateron

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheMax13 In reply to Swaroop [2004-09-13 14:09:12 +0000 UTC]

okay. But then i wouldn't get any good renders out of it, wouldn't i?
And hey, my mom wants me of the computer anyways, so this helps on it. I get Terragen up, i get it to render a pic, and i glare at the telly as it renders
btw, thanks for the tip

yeah, mountains are enticing . . .. .that is why, 175 people have died on Mt Everest

.. . .hmm I dont know why , everyone celebrates the fact that 1000 ascents have been made to Mt everest, what about the deaths?

Yea, man, I once did a "hill" in california, cat died and
the "hill" was outlawed for climbing. Only in America!
But, my friend, your art work is fantastic! You truly
have a gift. Thanks

Yeah, it's soooooooo cool

BTW, I wish if there was a way to export terragen files to 3ds

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Swaroop In reply to Milan-R [2004-09-12 18:20:55 +0000 UTC]

why would u want to export terragen filed to 3ds?

u can render it in terragen intself

moreover, terragen files are just terrains

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Milan-R In reply to Swaroop [2004-09-12 19:16:24 +0000 UTC]

Because an terragen-generated water cannot interact with an model I made, just an example.... and it would be much easyer to model large terrains without displacment maps....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Swaroop In reply to Milan-R [2004-09-13 02:02:00 +0000 UTC]

hehe I have no knowledge about 3ds at all

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

madbrainsurgeon In reply to Swaroop [2004-09-14 09:34:42 +0000 UTC]

I agree Terragen isn't the best for water it just doesn't seem to lie right when looking from certain angles

Anyway the pic nice to see the mountain in full view rather than all scene
