I like that you placed the model on the center of the photo.
I agree that the photo may not be original but, hey, I think it has delivered the message. In my point of view, I can see that everything in the backdrop is lost, destroyed, laying motionless in time. The girl looked as if the room has enveloped her with emptiness. The scene is pretty dramatic.
On your technique, I think the impact would be greater if the camera lens was wider so we can see a lot more of the room. Maybe a little ceiling above would have worked also. Another is if the shot was taken at a different angle like the shot could have been at 20 degrees higher than the model or a meter closer to the model. It's just me.
I like it.
Nice

(This is my first critique, so I don't really know what I'm doing...haha e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

The first thing I noticed was the unnaturally dark corner. I'm not sure if it is intentional or not; it could be a finger on the lense, or an object or something of mystery. then the fact that the girl isn't turned around, as I think that it would have added a whole new "level" of drama, to go along with her black clothes. The room, though, is outstanding, giving viewers a clear idea of the mood. I love how the room isn't symmetrical! The lighting is just enough to be slightly dramatic, but darkness doesn't overpower it; it's a perfect balance.
Thanks! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

This is a touching piece that I find very dramatic; yet the impact is not overwhelming. Is there an exact story behind it? I agree that it is not exactly original, yet all at once you put a twist on original and made it unique. Thats a hard thing to do. Everything flows together perfectly and I admire how the room isnt exactly a mirror image; meaning that the left side isnt exactly like the right. There is the patched up window on the left while the one on the right is bright and shining. There are pipe indentations running along the wall on the right, and on the left there is a light thats close to the lense of the camera when on the right their isnt. The vision was great, along with how clear the photograph was. The lighting didnt overpower the capture, yet it didnt undermine the eerie and spooky theme. It also makes you wonder; what was that place? Was it a school? An office? A building? If you look closely at what she is standing on it appears to be a desk. If it WERE a classroom I could easily invision it as a teachers desk. Yet another thing is the LOCATION of the desk; most teachers will not often have the desk in the center of the room, but people in an office building might. It is on the first level giving the gate like squares at the bottom of the back wall. The lights hanging from the ceiling tell otherwise; I highly doubt an office would have those hanging from the ceiling. Perhaps it had been a storage room? Lastly is her attire; I really find that it added a lot to the picture. Instead of the standard, baggy clothed girl standing there, blending in with her surroundings, you find a girl dressed in all black with leather botos on. Black can reflect tension and add to the mood, but it also holds an air of classy elegance. Another thing; she isnt staring directly as the camera which adds an edge of drama to the shot. Giving the state of her environment it is obviously abandoned or a catastrophic event ruined it; and even though her facial features are difficult to identify, you can tell she is most likely greiving. Overall this image was phenomenally done and I applaud you!

The angle is quite perfect. A lot of the room is shown and it's bright enough to see and also dark enough to give out a feeling to the viewer. I wouldn't say it's the most original thing, it is original but I've seen many photos of abandoned buildings. The photo is straight so the camera doesn't look like it's been tilted too much and the face is put at an angle yet clearly seen which is good. I like how the window is brightened so you can't see anything outside of it, allowing the viewer to concentrate more on everything else in the picture.
So my criticism would be that it's not the most original photo in the world. Also, the way only one corner is dark makes it seem slightly unnatural (if this was intentional
then I would've added 4.5 stars to technique).

I love how you put the model on a platform such as the desk and with the lighting and other elements this looks amazing, Beautiful work. It's magnificent!

I find myself far more interested in the room than the woman or her clothing, and obviously when an artist decides not to explain or give any kind of hint about what the session was about in their comment, I'm usually given to wonder why it's posted in a specific category. Fashion? Really? It looks more like urban exploration, and that's way more intriguing than yet another underwear model.

What's hanging down? Lights? Where was it taken? What is the purpose of the woman standing on the table?

Lovely and creative. Not to mention mad kudos for the model... I'd be a little icked out wearing that little, around my junk, in a setting that... uhm... I dunno. Don't quite wanna say unsanitary, but that's the word that keeps coming back to mind.
XD I'm not a very girly girl, but I'd probably definitely girl out in a place that gives off the look, this piece does.
