People think, these birds became extinct being eaten by sailors and some animals they had got on their ships but actually not all of them were killed. This young dodo is a great-great-great-grandson of one albino dodo who was named Gloom for his extremely suspicious mind and malign character.
Long time ago a few dodo families found a place where they had no dangers, no competitors and no enemies. It was a plentiful island with lots of big juicy fruit, nuts and leaves, fresh clean water and warm mild climate. What a wonderful land to stay! Year by year they only ate, slept and bred, relaxing from those hard times they had in their past. Little by little they had lost any will to fly, no one was on the lookout anymore and their posterity became more and more trustful and careless – except for one anxious albino youngling, who always tried to find a place to hide digging deep burrows and covering their entries with pieces of bark and plants. Becoming adult, he started a family and settled separately from others. He taught his children in different way making them always keep an eye on each other and the area around, watch unknown objects afar staying unseen, dig holes and tunnels to have a place to hide and so on. All together they’ve made a kind of dodo town deep underground, and when these hungry, cruel and extremely dangerous creatures had floated on their boats, Gloom’s family stayed safe and sound.
