Have you ever heard about forests-shapeshifters which can change their place of growing by their own will? The forests so ancient, that each has got its own mind, soul, and character, being not just a group of trees and bushes anymore, but a whole alive creature, feeding, dreaming, taking care of itself and defending its territory. No one can tell the difference between a regular forest and a forest-shapeshifter by its only view, especially because the last one is quite difficult to find therefore it has not been investigated well enough yet. However, if one day there was a clean field and the next day you find an old thick forest instead - it is definitely a shapeshifter lying on your doorstep, so beware of coming there with an axe or a saw and be sure not to build a fire in the forest. Spending a night in there might be an interesting idea if only you are not afraid of seeing an unfamiliar set of stars on the sky above your head together with two round yellow eyes on both sides of the Moon, watching you attentively. At nightfall, while the forest is still sleeping, the shape it can take is walking through the forest, checking if everything is alright here. It is almost translucent, tiny sparkles repeating star pattern of the sky cover its body, a little moon symbol shines on its forehead, and eyes are just the same as you may see above the forest deep at night. It is always an animal: usually a hedgehog, less commonly an owl, a moth, or a fox. Smelling a stranger, it will come to meet you - for your own good, bow low to it, say your name and ask for a permission to stay here: leave immediately if it denies, but if agrees, you can rest with no worries for none of the forest dwellers will dare to hurt an accepted guest. The dream you’ll have in the forest will be prophetic, full of hints about your future, so try to remember everything you see. The only inconvenience may appear if something frightened the forest off or aroused its curiosity while you were sleeping, so you should be prepared to find yourself in the middle of nowhere for the forest has run away in an unknown direction from the place you had entered it. There are still some rumors and gossips about those who were tired of living on the same place but had no idea where else they could go: finding a forest-shapeshifter and getting its permission, they settled inside it and traveling that way around the world.
