AU where Red is Ash's older brother who left to his Pokemon journey many many years before Ash that the poor kid probably doesn't have any memories of the guy.
Red gets sick of the attention from being such a good trainer that he stays in Mt. Silver without anyone knowing for far too long.
Also he is situationally mute- which is already pretty much canon but I'm putting that here.

Red isn't annoyed at Pikachu, but he is at Ash for causing a commotion, he tried to escape that before lol.
